VIII Prosumer Energy Forum

VIII Prosumer Energy Forum was held in Warsaw on 12-13 May 2015 in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The conference is a continuation of the tradition of meeting the renewable energy industry, which in the course of eight previous editions brought together hundreds of representatives of many organizations and businesses. The event was attended by over 200 people representing industry, local governments, national manufacturers, industry innovation, green heat sector and individual investors, as well as representatives of state and local administration at various levels.

The two-day, extensive forum program has been divided into 4 sessions of merit and two discussion panels. The program was dominated by issues of prosumer energy market from the perspective of customers and users of micro-installations as well as technology providers. The second day of the conference was devoted to issues concerning OZERISE project.

Dr. Katarzyna Michałowska-Knap, an expert IEO, presented the analysis of energy and heat consumption based on measurement results of the project OZERISE - Agricultural farms and smart grids integrated renewable energy sources, conducted by the Institute and co-financed with Life+ Programme and the National Fund. As emphasized in his lecture, wide development of renewable energy sources in Poland is not possible without the potential of what have in this regard in rural areas.

The share of energy costs in the cost of agricultural production in Poland is the highest in the EU (twice higher than the EU average), but also in rural areas (due to its specificity) are predisposed to the development of distributed renewable energy. This is confirmed by the results of farms conducted by the Institute under the project OZERISE.
